Art in a Lobby (NYC)

When I left MoMA on my recent visit to New York, I noticed artwork in the lobby of an office building across the street, so I went in. This turned out to be Gallery W52, and the work on display was by Rossana Martínez. A group of interesting objects was attached to one wall, as in an artist's studio (photo above, adapted from the artist's website). I took a few close-ups of my own (below). The limp cube looks like something I've seen before...but where?
